Authentication

All API requests require a Bearer token in the Authorization header.

Getting an API Key​

  1. Subscribe to ToolBox Pro
  2. Visit the developer dashboard to generate your key
  3. Your API key is stored in your browser only - ToolBox never stores it server-side

Using Your Key​

Include the key in every request:

API Key Format​

Keys follow the format tb_ followed by 32 hex characters:

tb_550e8400e29b41d4a716446655440000

Security​

  • Keys are generated client-side using crypto.randomUUID()
  • Keys are stored in your browser's localStorage only
  • ToolBox never sees or stores your API key on the server
  • You can regenerate or revoke your key at any time from the dashboard

Registering for Pro Rate Limits​

After generating your key, register it with your Pro subscription to unlock higher rate limits:
